Race 4 - Spa-Francorchamps 25 Hour - 9-10 July 2005
The presigious Spa Franchorchamps circuit played host
to the next round in the series on the July 9th and
10th. It gave countries such as Germany, France, Spain,
Italy, Belgium and of course, the UK, the chance to
take part in the worlds only 25 hour endurance race.
With a grid attracting an amazing one hundred and forty
three cars, hopes of British success were high. From
the start, SSJ Motorsport drove a steady, trouble free
race. Their strategy, which saw each driver complete
one and a half hour stints before changing, aided them
in progressing from 34th on the grid to finish 11th
overall and a take a victory for the UK, ahead of second
placed Team SsangYong.
Congratulations to the SSJ Motorsport drivers Steve
Blun, Scott Kavanah and Jason Cohen for a well desrved
win. Well done also to the British team RNIB, who drove
brilliantly to finish in third position in what was
only their second race of the series.
Prestige Motorsport News - Prestige Motorsport
decided not to take part in the SPA 25 race due to the
excessive engine wear that would have happened as a
result of this challenging race.
