Race 5 - Croft - 27 August 2005
Conditions for this race were not perfect with strong
headwinds changing not just car speed but gears too
subsequently knocking back the lap times.
From the starts SsangYong, Beetlejuice and Racecar.com
set the pace and swapped positions, with Hyside and
Auto Express chasing hard. Prestige Motorsport had
a very strong start too.
Just over half distance and Beetlejuice and Hyside
dropped out of contention, the former with a broken
distributor and the latter with a snapped driveshaft.
After a bad start from pole Honeywell struggled, then
had a drive-through penalty and finally a broken rear
spoiler losing them precious time. And SSJ couldn’t
quite match the front-end pace.
